Welcome

The Letham Grange Old Course was opened by the esteemed figure of Sir Henry Cotton in 1987. The golf course was designed by Donald Steel and even then gave no clue as to its recentness of its arrival on the golfing map.

Teeing off in front of The Mansionhouse, the course quickly incorporates narrow tree lined holes and open, rolling, and undulating fairways. A constant, yet never exaggerated feature is the intelligent use of water that influences 13 of the 18 holes. The 8th, and 10th, holes are truly memorable – the par 3, 8th, is played over a picturesque loch, onto a green surrounded by mature trees and rhododendrons. Possibly the most spectacular hole on the course is the 10th, again over water for the second shot. This hole offers a challenge to the most experienced golfers. World-renowned golf course photographer, Brian Morgan is an unashamed enthusiast. “There are several holes at Letham Grange which would not be out of place at Augusta National”. Praise indeed. To complement The Old Course, The Glens course was added in 1992. Whereas The Old Course is magnificent and challenging, The Glens offers a more relaxing round. However there is a sting. After a fairly straightforward 14 holes, the closing stretch takes you through some beautiful Angus Woodland with narrow tree lined fairways. A real joy.

The location of The Letham Grange Golf Courses places it in the forefront of modern golf planning. The complex lies in an arc encompassing the world famous courses of Carnoustie, St. Andrews, Gleneagles and Rosemount. With this abundance of scenic and golfing pleasure in mind, golfing breaks are a speciality. We have 40 letting rooms, wonderful food, very friendly staff, great atmosphere and are delighted to welcome visitors from near and far.
